My DX Summit (MDXS)
MDXS introduces a fresh lineup of features with a handy propagation tool as a real eye-opener. Predicted propagation is based on your personal location, and by clicking a DX spot you will see the current conditions and a 24-hour window covering all bands from your station, short and long path, to a distant DX location.”

RF Tools. This section of the site offers RF engineers quick access to popular calculators and design aids. They are useful at design time and for training purposes, both of which stimulated their development and use over the years. Each tool is written in Javascript and the user can view the page source should they wish to examine the implementation.

Measuring High Impedances With VNA
I often need to wind common mode chokes for EMI/RFI suppression.  Data from tables and books can be used as guidlines but the actual impedances are never known for sure.  The proliferation of inexpensive 1 and 2 port Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) in the past few years make RF impedance measurements easy.  However common mode chokes are often designed for impedances greater than 1k ohms and the accuracy of these measurements is often questioned.  These impedances represent VSWRs greater than 20:1 and often 100:1 for an instrument that is designed to measure impedances closer to 50 ohms.  How accurate might the answer actually be?

Field Day Interference
Operating Field Day with multiple transmitters involves coordination among the transmitters and antennas to minimize interference.  Simple solutions involve using the full 1000′ circle allowed for the antennas, dedicating a station for a single band, and/or using single band filters such as the W3NQN filters which are in both the transmit and receive signal paths.
